The
Society operates the Prairie Dog Central. This grant funded
the acquisition of a Hi-rail inspection vehicle.
Upper
Fort Garry was the birthplace of Manitoba. All that remains
today is the Governor's Gate. The Friends will establish an
interpretive park and centre on the site. This grant is payable
over 5 years.
Volunteers
in Minnedosa and Miami are preserving their historic railway stations.
Both grants were for restoration.
These
museums tell the story of our rich Canadian heritage. The
Royal Winnipeg Rifles Museum has published a history book and the
other museums undertook capital projects.
Morden
is one of the few Canadian towns to particpate in Chautauqua
Spirit, a Government of Canada celebration of art and culture.
This grant helped to erect a bust of Dr. Henry Marshall, a
world famous rose breeder from Morden.
