since 1936. It is improving its marketing and fundraising
stratgies.
In cooperation
with the people of the West End, John M. King School is developing
a community square in that inner-city neighbourhood.
The
Centre focuses on the hopes and needs of inner-city women and their
children. A volunteer program has been started.
This
inner-city refuge for transient people is refurbishing its facility.
Marginalized
people are welcomed at Wolseley. This grant is for programming.
A community
kitchen is being established by the Donwood group. Practical
skills will be taught and the community will be strengthened by
such interaction.
This
agency is developing a program whereby under-privileged children
will have access to activities such as sports, art, music and so
on.
MFD
provides programs to prevent farm injuries and to help the victims
of such events. Its facility is being renovated.
The
Centre offers counselling on a variety of issues with a focus on
low income clients. Its building has been renovated.
A new
pool house will enhance the outdoor pool in Morris.
These
agencies serve people who are developmentally delayed. A variety
of projects were funded.
Family
violence and sexual dysfunction in Eastern Manitoba is addressed
by this agency. The grant was for programming.
The
Center is a focal point for immigrant women. Training programs
were funded with this grant.
Affordable
rental accommodations are a challenge for low income people.
The Society is buildng new units which will be partly furnished
with this grant.
The
Ministry serves transient people from the historic Augustine United
Church. New flooring was purchased.
Pine
Falls has suffered the loss of its major employer and Wings of Power
has hired a Family Support Outreach Worker to help address this
crisis.
A new
community hall has been erected in Rorketon.
The
Foundation has traditionally helped those who are helping others
at Christmas.
Bethlehem
provides services to a challenging North End constituency.
This grant will help it to plan for the future.
The
Vineyard offers transitional housing to street people. Its
facility has been expanded.
This
grant will help the Centre perform leasehold improvements at its
new location.
The
Agency serves to facilitate visits between children and their non-custodial
parents. Renovations have been funded.
