Siloam Mission, Winnipeg $10,000

A new convection oven and range will help feed the poor at this inner-city relief mission.

Lorne Community Handivan, Swan Lake $7,500

Handivans help to maintain the independence of the mobility disadvantaged.  This grant helped to purchase a new van for the R.M. of Lorne.

Simaril, Winnipeg $13,500

A.C.L. Selkirk $10,000

L'Arche Winnipeg $5,000

Winnserv, Winnipeg $2,500

These agencies serve developmentally handicapped adults.  A.C.L. Selkirk, Simaril and L'Arche are renovating buildings and Winnserv is producing a guide on the aging of developmentally impaired adults.

Thompson Humane Society $7,000

Improvements to the facility, which houses the Society, have been assisted with this award.

Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization, Winnipeg $4,600

IRCOM acquired a new photocopier to facilitate its administrative needs.

 

Manitoba Food Charter $6,000

A grant for capital costs will help the Charter encourage food growing and preservation skills in northern Manitoba.

 

Winnipeg Centre Vineyard Church $25,000

The Vineyard provides transitional housing for street people.  Expansion of its facility was assisted.

 

Sara Riel Foundation, Winnipeg $10,000

Individuals living with mental illness are housed by this organization.  Its apartment block has benefited from capital improvements.

 

Christmas Cheer Board of Greater Winnipeg $10,000

Salvation Army Christmas Kettle, Winnipeg $5,000

Winnipeg Harvest $5,000

Union Gospel Mission, Winnipeg $2,500

LITE, Winnipeg $3,000

Christmas Cheer Funds in Rural Manitoba $10,500

The Foundation has traditionally helped agencies that are helping others at Christmas.

The Winnipeg Foundation $2,500

"Community Roots" is a magazine devoted to Manitoba's thriving community foundation movement.  It is published by the Winnipeg Foundation.

 

North Point Douglas Women's Centre $10,000

The Centre offers various resources to women and children.  It is renovating its facility.

 

Belmont & District Community Club $10,000

Pilot Mound Millennium Recreation Complex $20,000

Winnipegosis and District Community Centre $25,000

Cartwright and District Community Centre $9,600

Community centres are the social hub of rural towns.  Pilot Mound, Winnipegosis and Cartwright are building new facilities.  Belmont is renovating its centre.

 

SMD Clearinghouse, Winnipeg $5,000

SMD is pursuing a Barrier Free Manitoba project.  This grant seeks to assist with the fundraising strategy.

 

Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council, Winnipeg $25,000

A new complex will offer transitional housing for refugees and offices for MIIC.

 

Habitat for Humanity, Winnipeg $30,000

Habitat builds decent housing for marginalized people who could not otherwise afford it.

 

Open Access Resource Centre, Winnipeg $10,000

The OARC provides devices to individuals with communication difficulties.  This grant helped to purchase such equipment.

 

L'Entre-Temps, Winnipeg $10,000
