Career Connections, Brandon $10,000

Clients who are living with various physical and mental challenges are assisted with their employment goals by Career Connections.  Special software was purchased with this award.

Inglis & District Community Club  $10,000

Community halls are hubs of activity in rural Manitoba..  Renovations to Inglis' hall were partly funded with this award.

Evergreen Basic Needs Committee, Gimli  $5,400

The Committee operates a thrift store and addresses poverty in several Interlake communities.  This grant helped it to relocate to larger premises.

Winnipeg Humane Society $50,000

The WHS, with a province-wide mandate, has outgrown its facilities and is building a new home. Construction will be helped with this award.

Thompson Humane Society $10,000

Parkland Humane Society, Dauphin $10,000

Capital grants are helping humane societies in Thompson and Dauphin build their first animal shelters.

Young United Church, Winnipeg $24,620

Two derelict apartments are being purchased and renovated to provide comfortable housing for marginalized people.  Acquisition costs and equipment were partly funded with this grant.

 

Child & Family Services of Western Manitoba $10,000

A pre-school enrichment program is part of the prevention work undertaken by CFS in Brandon.  A new van acquired with the help of this grant will transport children to the facility.

Swan Valley Crisis Centre, Swan River $5,000

Kitchen improvements have been funded at this shelter for women and children.

 

Miriam Centre, Ile des Chenes $10,000

This grant has assisted with a variety of capital improvements to Theresa Place, a residential treatment facility for women.

 

Tiger Mountain Pool, Treherne $25,000

The people of Treherne are developing a new, outdoor aquatic centre.  This grant will assist in the project.

Town of Niverville $40,000

The new Niverville Heritage Centre will include a pool, gym, atrium, daycare, racquet courts, arena and seniors residence. This grant is payable over 4 years.

Parkland Regional Community LINC, Russell $12,500

Rolling Dale Enterprises, Rivers $10,000

Open Arms Independent Living, Winnipeg $10,000

Riverdale Place Homes, Arborg $6,000

Riverdale Place Workshop, Arborg $5,000

D.A.S.C.H., Winnipeg $15,000

These organizations serve mentally challenged adults.  A variety of capital projects were funded.



 

Christmas Cheer Board of Winnipeg $10,000

Salvation Army Christmas Kettle $5,000

Winnipeg Harvest $5,000

Union Gospel Mission, Winnipeg $2,500

Christmas LITE, Winnipeg $2,500

Christmas Cheer Funds in Rural Manitoba $5,000

The Foundation has traditionally helped agencies that are helping others at Christmas.

Community Foundations of Canada $30,000

The Manitoba Region of the CFC hosts a bi-annual Conference for its members.  A $5,000 grant helped to stage the event.  A $25,000 award partly funded the costs needed to sustain the office of Manitoba Regional Coordinator.

 

 

 

Killarney & District New Facility Committee $40,000

The KDNFC is fundraising to help provide new recreational facilties for Killarney.  This grant, payable over 4 years, will help fund the new community hall.

Teulon & District Handivan Service $6,000

A new handivan will ensure mobility for the elderly and disabled in the Teulon area.  This grant helped to fund the vehicle.

Winnipeg Harvest $10,000

Winnipeg Harvest helps to address the issues of surplus food and needy families.  A new forklift will be purchased with this award.
