Winnipeg has the largest urban elm forest in North America.  The Coalition is focussing on Broadway Avenue as it promotes the value of preserving the elms.

Canadian Environmental Grantmakers' Network $5,000

The CEGN staged its annual conference in Gimli.  The agency and the conference promote environmental granting.

Sustainability Network $10,000

Three residential retreats were hosted by the Sustainability Network in order to help the leaders of Manitoba's environmental community develop skills.

Green Kids, Winnipeg $13,360

This agency visits schools throughout the province, delivering an environmental message.  Video equipment has been acquired.

Mixedwood Forest Society, Wellman Lake $2,300

All-terrain vehicles are taking a toll on the Parklands of western Manitoba.  The Society is publishing a brochure to educate the public on the proper use of such machines.
