R.B. Russell Infant Centre, Winnipeg $7,500

R.B. Russell Vocational High School in Winnipeg's North End encourages young mothers to pursue their high school diplomas.  An infant centre cares for their children while they are attending classes.  This grant helped to fund the nutrition program.

 

Hockey Canada $15,000

Many young people enjoyed the Women's World Hockey Championship in Selkirk.  This grant helped them to attend.

 

Duke of Edinburgh's Award $8,000

A tour to Churchill by students seeking to earn their "Gold" awards has been facilitated by this grant.

 

Eagle Bay Camp & Ministry Centre, Hilbre $10,000

Red Rock Bible Camp, Whiteshell $15,000

Wellman Lake United Church Camp, Duck Mountain $10,000

Camps are the highlight of the summer for many children.  Capital improvements have been undertaken at all locations.

 

Halcrow Lake Day Care Centre, The Pas $20,000

Minnedosa Community Child Care Cooperative $15,000

Aleph-Bet Child Life Enrichment Program, Winnipeg $5,000

Cornish Child Care Centre, Winnipeg $5,000

Peter Pan Day Nursery, Dauphin $15,000

Westgrove Children's Centre, Winnipeg $9,898

These day cares serve high needs populations.  Various capital projects have been assisted.

 

Parkland Youth Centre, Roblin $15,000

The Centre is renovating a building from which to deliver its services to the young people of the Roblin area.

 

Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg $5,768

The Clubs offer safe recreation for inner city children.  Security features were funded with this grant.

 

The Pas Action Centre $16,500

The Centre helps to keep young people constructively occupied.  This award partly funded a new staff position.
